If, after an exhibition by James Turrell, listening to The Dark Side of the moon while looking at the cover designed by Storm Thorgerson and thinking about a crystal from planet Krypton you had to design a new object in Lucite, probably the result would be close to these magnificent sculptures in acrylic by Phillip Low. Elusive as an optical illusion and iridescent like a rainbow, they interact with the environment changing aspect at each position. They are contemporary as the ubiquitous gradient trend and timeless as a perfect collector’s item to display in a modern Wunderkammer.
Marvelous objects you can boldly juxtapose with skulls, stuffed animals and branches of coral, or with mysterious objects derived from the most advanced scientific theories of the time.
You can find them at a reasonable price on New York gallery Matter’s e-shop.
